About Us

.A well resourced, co-ordinated and effective provider sector is essential to deliver the skills challenges across the LEP area to meet the current gaps in skills and to address the future needs of employers.

Staffordshire Providers Association (SPA) has provided a means of engaging with the provider sector in Staffordshire for a number of years and has gone through a number of changes reflecting shifts within the prevailing conditions.  About two years ago Skills Staffordshire was established which includes the majority of the Colleges, Universities, Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and 13 members of SPA who agreed to provide resources to join.

Over the past year in particular, SPA and Skills Staffordshire have worked more closely together and have worked on skills areas where the ‘offer’ to engage has been across all membership organisations.

A proposal led to a decision to bring the operations of Skills Staffordshire and SPA together to be branded the Staffordshire Partnership for Employment and Skills.

The Vision for Staffordshire Partnership for Employment and Skills is:

A single partnership organisation that fully articulates and represents the interests of employment and skills partners in Stoke and Staffordshire.

Staffordshire Partnership for Employment and Skills will be a powerful single, skills delivery partnership and strong voice in Stoke and Staffordshire and will be able to work closely with the LEP/Education Trust to respond to strategic skills requirements in the City and County and have an informed dialogue on skills  issues. In addition, it will be able to respond to operational needs identified by the future Skills Hub and other partners.

Membership of Staffordshire Partnership for Employment and Skills is open to all employment and skills delivery partners and associated organisations in Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire.
